Volunteer Recruitment
The Volunteer Centre can advertise and promote your volunteer opportunities so you can reach the widest range of prospective volunteers.
We do this in a number of ways:
Voll Opps Directory
We keep hard copy directories of your opportunities in the Central library, The Job Centre, The Learning shop and in our office. The directory is divided into themed categories eg elderly, conservation etc for easy selection. This helps us to guide prospective volunteers towards areas of specific interest.

www.do-it.org.uk
We upload all of our Volunteering Opportunities directly onto the National Volunteering database where prospective volunteers can see and request more information from us about your opportunity 24 hours a day. Our Directory contains Role Descriptions with details of opportunities available in the Colchester area and beyond. These are divided into categories, for easy selection. They are available at the Central Library, Jobcentreplus and the Learning Shop. Forms to register your Volunteering Opportunities are available from our downloads web page.
Volunteers In Waiting
On our website you will find a section called Volunteers in Waiting this is where we list volunteers who would like to offer specific skills. It is worth keeping an eye on this section as we may have someone ready to get involved.
Guidance Interviews
We provide confidential guidance interviews, for prospective volunteers, to help match their skills and interests to the right opportunity. We discuss a range of local opportunities, explain volunteer rights and responsibilities and deal with any concerns they may have about benefits and volunteering.Following their interview prospective volunteers may wish to be introduced to an organisation. We do not place volunteers but introduce suitable prospects. We leave the organisation to arrange for any references required.
